Terms of Use

These Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and the operator of bestcalculator.tools ("we," "us"). By accessing or using the site, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site — that is the entire condition of use for a free service.

The site is operated from California, United States, and is intended for U.S. users. If you use it from elsewhere, you are responsible for compliance with your local law.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to rely on the site’s outputs for financial decisions.

bestcalculator.tools provides free educational calculators and content about debt payoff, consolidation, and personal loans. The calculators run in your browser using the numbers you enter and the assumptions disclosed on each calculator page.

We are not a lender, loan broker, credit repair organization, debt settlement company, credit counselor, financial advisor, or fiduciary. We do not offer, arrange, negotiate, or service financial products. Nothing on this site creates an advisory, fiduciary, or client relationship of any kind.

Every output on this site is an estimate produced by simplified models with disclosed assumptions. Your actual lender’s numbers control: their statements, disclosures, and contracts define what you owe and what you will pay — our calculators do not.

You are responsible for verifying any number that matters against your lender’s figures before acting on it, and for deciding whether professional advice is appropriate for your situation. See the Disclaimer page for the details of how our estimates can differ from reality.

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes: run the calculators, read the content, link to any page, and share results you generate for your own situation.

You may not: scrape or bulk-harvest the site’s content; copy, republish, or embed the calculators or substantial portions of the content on another site or product without written permission; probe, disrupt, or overload the site or its security; misrepresent the site’s outputs as your own product; or use the site for any unlawful purpose.

We may block, throttle, or terminate access that violates this section. Since there are no accounts, this means technical measures at the network level.

The site’s content, calculator implementations, page designs, and branding are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to access and use them as described in Section 4, and no other rights.

Underlying financial formulas (amortization math, interest arithmetic) are public knowledge — no one owns compound interest, including us. What we own is our specific implementation, explanation, and presentation of it.

The site links to third-party resources and, in the future, will include disclosed affiliate links to third-party financial products. Third-party sites and products belong to their operators: their terms, their privacy policies, their rates, and their approval decisions control, and we have no authority over any of them.

A link — affiliate or otherwise — is not an endorsement, a recommendation for your situation, or a representation that you will qualify for or benefit from a product. Read the Affiliate Disclosure page before relying on any partner link.

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, CALCULATORS, AND OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY ESTIMATE WILL MATCH YOUR ACTUAL FINANCIAL OUTCOMES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of the above may not apply to you.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST MONEY, LOST SAVINGS, CREDIT IMPACTS, OR FINANCIAL DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE SITE’S ESTIMATES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

This limitation reflects the bargain: the service is free, the outputs are estimates, and the decisions are yours. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

If your violation of these Terms, misuse of the site, or unlawful conduct causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to indemnify us for the resulting losses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees. This section does not apply to claims arising from our own conduct.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the site or these Terms must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Nothing in this section limits rights you may have under consumer protection laws of the state where you live that cannot be waived by contract.

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date; continued use after posting is acceptance. We will not apply changes retroactively.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the site. These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and Affiliate Disclosure, are the entire agreement about the site.
